In London, Robinson met captain Culpeper who had just returned from Africa. He asked Robinson if he would like to join his crew. Robinson agreed. Captain Culpeper taught Robinson many things that a sailor needed to learn. Captain Culpeper also gave Robinson some items that he could trade . On a journey, Robinson had a fever . A few days later he recovered. Captain Culpeper had the same fever but sadly he died. Robinson kept his own fortune with Culpeper's widow.
